Hello, I'm Mo. I'm an architect working on the technology side of the field, close enough to practice to know what the tools miss and close enough to the people building them to say so.
I grew up in Kuala Lumpur, in Chinese school, learning maths and science in Mandarin before I learned them in English. It was exact and unsentimental and it stuck. Architecture came later, in Melbourne, which taught me the opposite lesson: that the idea matters more than the artefact. London is where I've been arguing between the two ever since.
I like tools that feel good to use. I like modelling in Blender at 2am, hotels that get the lighting right, plans drawn at 1:100 with the right lineweights, restraint in almost everything, and people who care more than the job strictly requires.
Outside of work I run, go to more museums than is reasonable, and spend more time than I should people-watching from my favourite benches in London.
If you're building something in this space, or you just want to argue about whether any of this is a good idea, get in touch.
